I appreciate your helpful comments so much. Here's one more I took during the practice portrait session. Don't be shy with your critique!

Overall great shot. Left side lighting could improve I think, or perhaps a better contrast between subject and background, but only on left side.

Great portrait! My only critique would be that the instrument should be a bit farther away from the subject(at the neck). But great shot!
