I lose headphones like it's my job.
I've gone through like 10 pairs in the last several months.
I almost never buy new ones though. I get them "donated" to me.
For example, I accidentally took home one of our new river rafting friend's headphones. He let me borrow them.
I forgot to return.
Woops.
Then I lost them.
And then found them.
And another pair.
It's a cycle kids, a a cycle.
