20140513 Bridge at Remagen

The Ludendorff (Railway) Bridge, often referred to as the Bridge at Remagen, was captured by the Americans in March 1945, during Operation Lumberjack. They famously defended it against determined attacks from the Germans until it finally collapsed 10 days later, by which time they had built several pontoon bridges and gained a significant hold in that part of German territory.
Great shot, works really well in B&W
