I love old graveyards, and Bath Abbey had many decorative memorial plaques. Many commemorated soldiers who died in India, and recounted their brave exploits. I couldn't help but think what a nice man Jacob Bosanquet must have been.
@gilbertwood thx Denise - this church had more memorial plaques than anywhere else I visited on the trip - walls packed with them. The ones for men who died in India were interesting - many detailed their exploits, such as the one who died when he blew up the magazine he was defending when he realised the enemy would take it.
