Taken at the "March to Change New Zealand's Shame" calling for action to address sexual and domestic violence, organised by the Women's Refuge organisation. The pairs of shoes laid on the steps of Parliament were in memory of the victims of domestic violence - the children's shoes were a sad truth.
@gilbertwood yes - although it was pretty much hijacked by the various political parties (we were five days out from an election) the stories were moving, and change needs to happen faster to protect people from violent, abusive family members and partners. There have been some high profile cases involving children in recent years.
