Cyclic transformation by etienne

Cyclic transformation

Some observation is needed in order to get the story behind this collage. You can start from anyone of the six pictures and move either clockwise or counterclockwise. The flower will progressively transform into another one in a seamless process that will bring it back to its original state after you have moved around the full circle. The way I have done this is by making three anchor pictures, the ones that sit at 1 o’clock, 5 o’clock and 9 o’clock in the collage. I made these three anchor pictures of three different but similar flowers, at the same time in order to get the same light (two calendulas and one California poppy). Then I made double exposures of the three pictures two-by-two in order to create the intermediate transformational states. Finally, I arranged them into the right order in order to get a continuous transition cycle.
Interesting, my imagination has been captured
