I went back to visit the turtles at the pond yesterday and caught this monstrous bullfrog resting on the reeds. I also saw 16 painted turtles, 6 Canada geese including 4 goslings, a robin, 2 mallards and 2 other bullfrogs. This amazing lot of wildlife was in and around a pond within a few hundred yards of the busy main street. I have been told that a wetland can support 170 different species. It is important that we preserve space for critters like these!
