In My Yard Today

photo 369
This is my first scanner photograph, made entirely from what is growing in my yard at the moment. My friend Ellen Hoverkamp specializes in scanner photography and I have always admired her wonderful work, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

This is so beautiful! What wonderful color - your picture is great and your yard must be equally as pretty. I'm not sure what scanner photography is but this looks quite professional.

Never heard of this technique before. A great job you've done. Lovely spring picture.

@milaniet You put the flowers directly on the glass of a flatbed scanner, leave the cover off and make a scan. The background becomes black, but you do have to retouch the dust and pollen.

Allison! This is so beautiful! I have been thinking of a project like this for a long time - great work! And I am totally jealous that you have all of those flowers in your yard too!
