Rose Hips/Town Docks

Rose hips are the fruit of the rose plant. These shrubs are commonly found all along the beaches in Connecticut and the New England shoreline. Rose hips are high in vitamim C, and are used to make jelly, tea, sauces and other food items. Here is more info if you are interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_hip
A really interesting view of this plant - had no idea about its background. The wonderful things you learn here (including how to work on shadows - I'm getting better with your help.)

Very pretty. I enjoy the shiny red surface. They even grow wild here in Idaho at 6000' elevation. http://365project.org/rvwalker/365/2012-05-08
