The lighting was weird on the bus today -- the glow above the seats was from the sun. I used Snapseed to make the colors more interesting. Still a boring photo but, hey, they can't all be winners.
At the risk of TMI or sounding really insensitive and not going into gross detail, I saw something today that I never want to see ever again.
Scrotal Hernia.
Don't ask me how or why. I. don't. even...
...
Also, my shoulder hurts and I'm tired and I have this paper cut on my finger that hurts like a mofo...
Aaaand...
I think I'll just quit while I'm ahead. Hope you all have had a lovely Tuesday.
Well, hell! I had a great day today walking around a dairy farm, and coming home to wash every single piece of clothes Iwas wearing (inclduing a good scrub of the shoes) because it all had that lingering odor. My day was still better than yours. ;o)
Love the shot, though -- got a little magic to it.
In other news today....Ms. T. What the ...I do love your descriptive frustration. I think most of us can relate. I like the pic. It looks like a gust of wind just swept through the isle. You are asking way to much of the viewing audience. How can I not ask about the scrotal hernia. Yikes!!!
@mralsmith yes lol very unnecessary. Thanks for the visit, Adam.
@adamj because I'm a glutton for punishment, I will divulge into the scrotal hernia story. (That so does not sound right.) Anyway, was at the hospital for a meeting. Decided to stop in and see a client of mine who was there. Went to make sure they were keeping him on his pysch meds. Mental health is my domain but I'm still privy to physical health info. The nurse just decided to show me his scrotal hernia. WITHOUT WARNING. I was, like, ummmm I don't need to see this. But it was too late. Never seen anything like that. It was...Well let me just say that I don't even know how the man was even walking around with that...thing going on. Poor dude.
What's weirder is that the patient didn't seem to mind that I saw his junk. I sure as shit wouldn't want my counselor or therapist seeing my lady parts...for any reason.
@fauxtography365 Fantastic!!!!! Love it. Not the unfortunate happenstance for the gent, but your BIG surprise. That's a great story, and why on earth would the nurse assume that you needed to see this? And the guy was cool with it! Thanks for sharing...I'm serious. Thanks.
Before I read your reply explaining further, I was really intrigued: Scrotal herna, then you said your shoulder hurt and you were tired! I was just about to ask you whether you had to carry a gigantic scrotal hernia? ;-p hehehe
On a serious note, I agree with you, I think it was a bit unprofessional for the staff to show you that without warning both to the patient and to you. Unfortunately general medical staff need to remind themselves about these things as to them they become run of the mill! I was interested to hear you are involved in mental health...do you mind me asking what is your involvement? I am asking because actually I am a psychiatrist by profession! :)
@jpgiorgio haha JP I almost choked when reading "carry a gigantic scrotal hernia". Oh the horror...
You're a psychiatrist? Nice! I considered psychiatry but I did not want to go to medical school - didn't have the stamina for it. I have always been interested in psychopathology but I didn't initially start my career in that field after college. So I got a graduate degree that allows me to work in mental health services and be licensed to provide psychotherapy and counseling. Best change I've ever made in my life. The work can be emotionally taxing but so, so fascinating and rewarding for me!
@fauxtography365 hehehe...was joking of course...but you never know...I hear all sorts in my work hehehe!
Great that you also work in mental health! I totally agree...it can be very emotionally taxing and draining...but very fascinating and certainly very rewarding! :)
