Like for this shot, for example. Putting on my Dr. Pepper lip smacker. It imparts a slight reddish and lovely tint, btw.
I'm on the train sitting next to good smelling guy. He is reading the business section of the New York Times, as per usual.
A friend asked me recently asked me what celebrities I've seen in the time I lived in Manhattan proper. The list is actually kinda long. I also interacted with a fair bunch of celebrities for my first job out of college which was in the entertainment media.
Speaking of celebrities... Do any of you have a celebrity doppelgänger? Lol my husband kinda does. He's been told in the past that he looks like a particular actor. Strange thing is, I don't really find that particular actor attractive. To be fair, both men can be considered empirically attractive - dark hair, light eyes. Though the actor has blue ones and my sweetie has green. The actor, however, often plays goofy roles and I find his onscreen presence annoying lol. But I can see the physical similarities between the two. Really goes to show how personality and attitude really count toward or against hotness and attractiveness.
I don't have any celebrity doppelgänger. Although once...and @snaphappy1 can attest to this because she pointed it out...A few years ago, I once was shopping with her on 5th Avenue, wearing a tank top, jeans, and my Yankees cap...And I think people thought I was someone famous. I remember we were in Club Monaco and some woman and the dude behind the counter kept trying to peek under my cap. And it happened several other times that day in other stores we went into and on the street. Including one guy at the vitamin store who kept staring at me. I don't know who they thought I could've been but I know I've done that (the peeking) in NYC when I see people who look like they might be famous and hiding behind a baseball cap and sunglasses.
If I could choose an actress to play me in the movie of my life...I think I'd choose Olivia Munn. Not based on her acting skills though. I look nothing like her, btw. I just think she's hot.
Who would you choose to play yourself in the movie of your life? Have you ever been told you look like someone famous?
Hmm..well ....I'm forever being mistaken for Tom Cruise ! Gets quite annoying to be honest (ok..so all of that is actually a lie !!) lol !:)) That's a tricky but interesting question though...I think I'd choose Jude Law, no real similarities at all (haha) but perhaps I'd like to be more like him in appearance and upstanding British style coolness ! Great partial selfie as always Ms T and interesting musings :)
I get told I look like Tim Allen. I'm short with broad shoulders so I don't see it, but without my goatee, I guess it's possible. I have that "Tim the Toolman" energy and silliness, but not sure about the facial features.
When attending a party over the summer, I wore a cool Robert Graham shirt and some Psy sunglasses and someone told me I looked like Pitbull. Hmmm...I've never in my life ever been as cool as Pitbull.
Who would play me in the movie of my life? Paul Giamatti. His characters are always just a little left of normal, and he brings such emotion to the screen. That would be cool.
Very lovely and soft "mirror phone" portrait. As always your story, and questions are totally there! Me I would pick Johnny Deep for his acting skills and his sometime whacky right on roles. After all in essence; life is a bit wacky and fun!
I haven't been mistaken for a celebrity yet, but I've been told by both expat and Korean alike that they've seen me on TV. Not sure who they saw, but it wasn't me.
As for you, I picture you more as an Olivia Wilde.
@paulie maybe there is some random dude on TV that looks like you lol. As for Olivia Wilde? Ah she's gorgeous and not a bad actress either. I like her because she can be serious and funny.
@paulie :) I know the feeling. People in general have very poor facial recognition skills, particularly when it comes to racial or ethnic nuances. I actually did a study on this in grad school. People think they can recognize faces better than they actually can.
I get compared to people in my own ethnic background who I look NOTHING like. Have also been compared to others outside of my racial background too. Strange thing. I find it interesting sometimes and annoying at other times.
@fauxtography365 It's not that uncommon for expats here in Korea to hear that they look like Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt even though they look absolutely nothing like either of them. It's quite strange.
When my hair was super short someone actually walked across a restaurant to tell me I look like Jamie Lee Curtis. I guess we both have a long, thin face and at the time the same hairstyle. There is quite an age difference, though! Then, when my hair was really long a couple years ago, I was wearing it straight and parted in the middle and I was told by a lady waiting in line for the bathroom that I look like Sheryl Crow. Also, that same year, I had curled my hair one day and was told I look like Kate Hudson. So I guess I run the gammet. Lol. Strangers do often tell me that I look familiar. I guess I have that kind of face.
@islandk8 I remember when you had your hair short and I could see how the 'do was like Jamie Lee Curtis. But def a big age difference. And if I think about it, I could see some similarity Btwn Sheryl Crow and you when your hair is long.
Hugh Jackman. Probably because he has the same accent as me. I don't have many other similarities to him, unfortunately. I certainly would mind having his guns, lol...
I actually have been told that I look like a celebrity. Three or four different celebs actually. My look has changed over the years so the comparisons made depended on my age. If I were to choose some possible actors to portray me...Jason Statham would be very cool, because he is very cool and we share some traits and interests. Bruce Willis may be on the short list along with Robert Downey (he would have to shave his head for the later years...lol).
@kaesebiscuit is that first one Alan Rickman. Do you sound like him? Lol for some reason his voice makes me swoony. Can't make out who the second dude is.
As for who would play you? Excellent choices. Haha.
I once was told by some random that I looked like a particular Aussie actor, so I told him that we were cousins. His mum and my mum were sisters and that I often hang out with the actor whenever I was in Melbourne. The random guy and his mates, were so impressed that I was 'related' to the actor and they bought me some drinks and asked to 'hang' with me.
@fishy - I posted a selfie on fcbk several years ago when my beard was younger and a very nice lady suggested I looked like Hugh Jackman. That gave me a warm fuzzy feeling...
@bobfoto heh neat story :). And you also get a gold star for being the only to speculate what actor my hubby could look like lol. No he doesn't look like Adam Sandler ... Though I too find him a bit annoying. My husband has been compared to this guy. And if the link works, he had been told he looks like the actor when the actor has facial hair. I dunno why but I find Tobey Maguire annoying. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/61/Tobey_Maguire_3%2C_2013.jpg
@fauxtography365 - watching Spiderman, I struggled to work out what the attraction was... he can't act and even when he reaches puberty, he will struggle to grow a moustache. I could have sworn it was that kid from Home Alone when I first saw him!
@fauxtography365 "grow facial hair properly" is all that is required. I think I would enjoy one day sitting down with Mr T and enjoying a beer. Nothing more.

@04haze thanks, Lee!
As to who would play me in a film of my life... One of these guys I guess: http://bbc.in/8DO9M
As for who would play you? Excellent choices. Haha.
I never could see the resemblance myself.
Does your husband really look like Adam Sandler?
