Someone once asked me if my husband minds these kinds of pictures that I post. Answer is no. Surely he would mind if I was completely naked in them. But that'll never be the case for me. (Not judging nude photography btw. I just would not do it because I don't have the guts to do it.)
For me, these pictures are about capturing a moment in time where I feel comfortable, maybe even beautiful, in my skin -- no matter how the picture comes out or what people may actually think of it. Like most people, from time to time (especially in my teen years and early adult life) I have felt self-conscious that I was never pretty enough, had a nice enough body, looked as good as society's idea of beauty. Things about my character, intelligence, humor, attitude -- I knew/know I can always change and improve. But I'm born with the genes I'm given. Harder to change eye color or skin color if they don't fit into those typical "standards" of beauty that's abundant in the media. That was especially weird for me growing up.
These days I feel good about me, both inside and out, regardless of what people think or say or keep to themselves for the sake of being kind.
So this is me. The picture isn't perfect but I kinda like it because it isn't and I'm certainly not. It didn't come out the way I envisioned but after about 5 shots, I said fuck it - no more. And I did it half-assed. I didn't really mean to write that.
Actually, yes I did.
Lol.
ANYHOOOO.
Can you believe we only have two Sundays left of this year?? Where did the time go...
@mara19500 Yes, I suppose that's typical of me, Mara. Lol :) I find that what I write here is either to invite conversation or to invite people to what goes on in my brain... which really isn't a good idea most of the time... Thanks for commenting and reading the ramblings!
@fauxtography365 I find them very illuminating...love your prose...you should write something...Bridget Jones's diary in a half serious, half humorous, more profound version.
@mara19500 honestly, that is such a wonderful compliment. I really do love to write and have taken many courses during college and post-college to improve my writing - both professional and creative. I was a journalism major, actually, so I feel story telling is such a part of me. It was (maybe still is) a dream to write that great novel one day. Maybe. :) If not, I'm just happy someone reads what I write.
Going to have to fav this one. Soft, pretty, dreamy, nice tones, great composition and slightly erotic. You have a beautiful body, one you should be proud of. I enjoyed your narrative as well.
another super shot ... wonderful to read your narrative .. nice tio see how comfortable you are with your body ..!! Btw I was looking at your flickr images and ... I usually assocaite this edgy side to you ... but you seem as much at ease with the "conventional" images ... thought your work was pretty darn amazing!!
@friend2303 thanks, Vijay! That's a really nice compliment coming from someone's who has a great portfolio of work. Again, appreciate your kind comments!
