First Born by fayefaye

First Born

So my first chrysalis had a baby girl in it. She is my first born this season. I didn't get to watch her come out but I have another chrysalis and a few caterpillars so hopefully I'll get to watch one of them come out. It's the most amazing thing to watch.
How wonderful and a beautiful image.

So, I had to look it up and I'm impressed you could tell the sex. The differences don't seem that obvious to inexperienced eyes like mine.
A lovely capture you've made here.

So exciting and so pretty! I have about 8 caterpillars (that I known of), in my front yard. I am always afraid that there is not enough food for them, as they totally go nuts on my milkweed. I can not re-grow them fast enough so I keep buying extra's. Congrats on "your gril"

Super capture. Too bad you didn't catch it coming out of the chrysalis.
