Hmm.... miniature or macro. Well here is a pretty coin I have been saving for just such a day (when I have no time to think of anything better!) They have done some really pretty 50p coins recently, this is one commemorating the 50th anniversary of the World Wide Fund for Nature - so many miniature animals in a macro shot on one of our bigger coins, nearly 3cm across, and their emblem the panda in the centre. Took the shot on my black hob with my pink jumper reflecting a little!
So pleased that you stopped by to look at or comment on my flaming shot yesterday - so glad I'm not the only pyromaniac/neanderthal here! Thank you so much - have a great Tuesday! :)
You're right Phil. The 50 pence piece or spanner bit as they are known at my house, is an iconic design and something that I am very fond of. Great shot.
The Australian 50c coin is often our commemorative one, so many interesting designs have come out. Ours is our only non-round coin too, but ours has 12 sides and a little larger than the 50p coin.
I really like the design on this coin
@cdonohoue Hi Cathy! Yes, penny is singular, pennies or pence is plural. So this is worth 50 pennies. I guess it's large and flat and that's why they chose it for the decorative coins :)
@gphelps5 Hi Graham! I saw one Olympic one, very early on, and gave it away to a friend whose daughter collects coins.. didn't realise how rare it would be! Our local post office ran a raffle for a set of them but alas I guess my number didn't come up. There are so many pretty ones about now, I check every time I get one! :)
