Work done, lawn done, usual problems done with, I caught the slight sunset out of my bedroom window, and watched the clouds gently pass across the sky. I enjoyed the moments, sighed, and it came to me.. today's challenge theme is poetry so here's one of my favourites... (with the boosted sunset to illustrate it and full appreciation of how my 365 project has made me enjoy the world around me and found time for loveliness in the mad rush of daily life...)
Leisure
by WH Davies
What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

(By the way, I was so touched by all your views and comments on the shots of Laddie's great soft paws yesterday, thank you so much.)
Gorgeous picture, you waxed poetic yourself in the description. Lovely poem. It's true that 365 tunes one's eye to the surroundings. Beautiful things around every turn.
I simply love this poem (it inspired me to leave my last job...true story), and I am stopping and staring a lot more now I am happy to say, especially at your lovely photographs :)
