We have a creepy basement... it's always given my the heebie geebies. It's a dirt floor, and the light never seems to reach the far corners. We keep a pair of boots at the top of the stairs, so you don't have to go down in your socks, but they are about 3 sizes too big for my feet, so I'm always afraid I'll trip if I have to run out of the basement to avoid something scary.
