he was the atypical gladiator. compared to the gladiators of the day - beefy muscles, strong arms, battle trained - he was puny and looked to be no match to his famous opponent. he did not possess the armour to fight, but with only his sling and a few stones. the underdog, the guy most unlikely perhaps. but we all know how the story went.
this is a tribute to that brave gladiator, and to all the underdogs of the world.
Clever take! Did you know that some of those sling-slung stones have been clocked at 90 mph? They are usually about the size of a baseball and the slingers are as accurate as a sharp-shooter. Your famous gladiator hit his competitor right between the eyes.
