I retired (very early) 17 years ago on a third of my salary... still here, still eating, still buying toys. Retirement is about your state of mind, not the state of your bank account 👌
there's a seriously george clooney look in there. or perhaps not! my financial adviser told me i need to have $2M now if i want to maintain my present "lifestyle" until i'm 92 (what happens after 92, i probably won't care as i either i'd be dead or so old and feeble i wouldn't care one way or another). but then again, if i suddenly drop dead, someone else would be enjoying the fruits of my damned labour. by the way, i've not much of a lifestyle, so that 2M is probably over-estimated.
