What a ride!

These guys were riding the 5 star Severn Bore this morning, one huge wave that travels up-river and gets even more exciting when the river narrows upstream. This weekend has the highest bores for the spring. The water that pushes this wave is pretty awesome too.

@katjas1975 When the tide comes up from the sea and through the Bristol Channel it's funnelled as the river narrows creating one wave. Where I live the river is about a mile or so wide, further upstream it's probably around 100m wide so the wave is even bigger. This weekend the tides have been very high and have attracted surfers and kayakers to ride the wave. Think the record is around 7 miles. It's exciting but rather then than me!

This is quite a shot - It almost looks like they have aligned for a group photo in the middle of the water. They all also look so happy and relaxed, anticipating great fun. Very nice capture.
