Swallow field by flowerfairyann

Swallow field

I went back to the river today to pick the fattest blackberries I've seen in a long time. As I crossed this field there were lots of swallows flying low catching insects all around me - something I've never experienced before. Of course they were long gone by the time the camera was out but this picture is to remind me of that magical moment.
Many more magical moments

I can imagine them here Margaret. They dart about so quickly they are impossible to catch. Well for me anyway. We have lots of them by the river but I've given up trying to catch a shot of them

Lovely to watch the swallows swoop and dart about. They say that if the swallows are flying low it is a sign of bad weather to come.

Love your story, and it's great that taking photos can remind us of special times.

Those clouds look threatening, hope you picked the blackberries before it rained!

@lavenderhouse Oh Malcolm, 5 minutes later there was a big storm across the river that appeared to be heading my way. I had to leg it across the field, scamper over the gate and run half a mile up a track with a colander full of blackberries, camera and bag. It must have looked pretty funny!
