The wild and the tamed

I love to see a laid hedge as it looks like a piece of art to me. This one has been done recently and still has a bit of wildness on the top.
I've never seen a hedge like this before - like willow weaving!

Hedge laying is making a come back around here in the Midlands - usually by specialist craftsmen employed by landowners. Its nice to see, and the result is usually stock proof!

I have a confession, i had no idea what hedge laying was so I had to google it. It certainly looks like a lot of work but a very effective way to create a natural stock barrier.

Same as Maggie, I've never seen this kind of hedge before. I love that it is natural and gets the job done.
