I stopped photographing the vineyards to take this shot. Someone riding past on the track asked "Excuse me, what are you photographing?" When I replied "Weeds" he looked at me like I was extremely strange and asked if they looked better in photos!
War on weeds is a never ending battle. We need to photograph them to recognize them and they do have their own beauty. Just a plant trying to grow in a place we don't want them.
To answer the passerby's question, yes, they look better in photos. For onr thing in photos we tend to really look at them and see the beauty without being annoyed that they are in our garden and we have to deal with them, for another, the ones in photos don't go to seed thus creating weeds for years to come.
Beautiful shot. Love the story, some people just don't get photography sometimes do they. I was taking a photo of a dripping tap at one of the barbeque areas near the beach and a chap came up to me and said "What are you doing" I said "Taking photos, isn't it obvious" and he just walked away. there was probably no answer to that. ha ha.
All of us here seem to fit a Lewis Carrol passage which goes something like this: "'We're all mad here', said the Cat. 'You're mad, and I'm mad.' 'How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice. 'You must be', said the Cat, 'or you wouldn't be here!'"
@golftragic So true Marnie. Us '365ers' are definitely a little strange or mad, and I wouldn't change that - it's fun to be a little crazy and share a different view of the world with others
Love the shot.
