After the fires by flyrobin

After the fires

We went for a drive today through some of the area where our latest huge bushfire (with a perimeter of 280km) went through. It was a sad drive although the amazing work of the CFS firefighters was evident everywhere.
That is a very grim shot... so devastating .. but it is amazing how quick it bounces back..

Feel sorry for the wildlife. Nice capture in b&w.

Devastating. Hope no houses were burnt down

So hard to see the changed landscape after a fire, and to know it will take years and years to recover.

Such a sad sight. Thank you to our wonderfully fire fighters. They face such danger and have horrific work conditions .

Oh, how heart-breaking to see the aftermath of this kind of fire. Those firies are just amazing.

Sam
Another Summer where we suffer such horrendous bushfires.........

Hate it when bushfires destroy a beautiful area. Looks like some is trying to come back though so that's good.

Takes my breath away to see what destruction a fire can cause. Love how you have captured it though. Beautifully sad

What devastation! Nature regenerates, but it will take time.

Such a sad scene but really well captured Robyn

A very poignant shot. It has been a bad year already for fires in Aus.

You've done so well in capturing this grim scene. But like John says, nature regenerates and in a few years all will come back to life again. We had similar devastating fires in Florida to the north of us about 15+ years ago----so depressing to see, but now all is back to its original beauty once again. I hope you get some rain soon.

An only too familiar sight these days. It is amazing how quick it regenerates though isn't it.

Sad indeed, for the animals too!

Great shot of a sad ending this area

By next spring there will be green showing up in this area for sure.

The B&W gives an added dimension of gloom so I guess it is justified.

Looks very bad Robyl, thanks for sharing ....Fav

A great capture of this sad event. Nature will bring it back, but it will take time.

Wow- it's hard to imagine it as something good although I've heard that fire is nature's way of house cleaning. It becomes more intense now with people living so close to these areas. But I'm reminded of when Mt. St. Helen's erupted in the 70's and how the area looked devastated afterwards, but a few short years later, it was green and lush! Nature can be harsh, but it is also quite amazing. This looks great as a black and white shot and it brings out the bleakness of the event.

Wow love how this photo tells a story's..........great b&w!

Sad to see all of this devastation!!! Well captured shot of this burned area!!!

Good capture of the burn area. We have similar looking areas after forest fires. Pretty devastating and takes a long time to rejuvenate!

So eerie !

A sad sight. Thanks for sharing.

Sad to see the burnt out area. Hopefully some of the plants are those that need fire to reproduce.

@terryliv I actually liked the shots I took better in colour, even though they were mostly black anyway, but the emotion in this one suited the b/w

@tonygig @eyesmile @olivetreeann @radiogirl @lealady @fntngrma @gilbertwood @sangwann @alia_801 Thank you. I am trying to practice bringing out the emotion in some of my shots
