My husband hates bats, but I think the flying foxes are cute as long as they keep their distance

As with some insects they are amazing and interesting, in close up photos, but harder to appreciate when they fly in your face.

They are fascinating creatures. We saw a huge colony in the outback on our last visit to Australia. At first I thought they were birds taking off from the trees. Was an awesome sight
