Medieval Tower

This is the tower of Ely Cathedral - one of the loveliest cathedrals. It's known as the Ship of the Fens as the cathedral can be seen from so many vantage points. It was used for the coronation scene in the current Netflix series of The Crown.

Like Chartres Cathedral it can be seen from miles away. It looked particularly fine this morning rising out of the mist.
