No writing today, just a brief explanation of how this silliness came to be. Annie D. challenged me to photograph geometry in nature. I’ve been staring at natural things and the only geometry that came to mind was looking at the angles formed by tree branches. I’ve always loved the fact that a given tree generally branches at more or less the same angles be it teeny twig or giant trunk. But how to photograph this fact mystified me. The other thing I noticed was that on the way to work is a tree that arches beautifully over the road. I can’t photograph it seeing as I’m driving rather quickly when I approach the arch, but I’ve been thinking I could mirror it and use it as a cathedralish sort of archway in a composite photo. Then, today’s word of the day was wood or trees. And thus the above was born from those various musings.
