Relatively mild today, so went out into the woods. Stumbled on a fungus I fondly call "old gnarly." I thought to take pictures of this elusive fungus (I keep trying to memorize where exactly it is, but can never find it on purpose), so I sat there for a long time taking photos. Dogs were patient. Then it turned out that this snapshot surpassed any of the others... That's how it goes.
