Well, it's a rock in the forest.
Thank-you all for your comments on yesterday's forest picture. The response to my "rescued" picture took me by surprise. I went back up there this morning to see if I could get an infocus shot. But, to my surprise, although it's in focus, it's not nearly as "good" because it was bright and sunny, which showed off the background behind the trees rather than closing in around them as happened during the actual snow.
