It's interesting how many things have changed- those "patent medicines" were probably something like "Uncle Joe's Magic Elixir" which cured everything from a headache to marital problems! Now alcohol (well that might have been the main ingredient in Uncle J's stuff!), cigarettes and money orders are the big draw. Nice drive-by shooting.
