First observation about photographing people: having only one shot at it is quite unnerving!
Here we are about to head off for a dinner theater performance, which was my birthday present from last March, part of our family trend these days to give presents that involve an outing. It's fabulous to have one's birthday continue for months and months after the fact.
Arrival time at show: much too early for my taste, just right for Joe's taste. During that extra waiting before the doors opened, however, I met a fun couple that lives close to here. They ended up having seats just next to ours.
Dinner: lackluster food
Script: the most depressing "comedy" ever as a pair of lovers plot to murder the husband in Act I, then the married couple plot to murder the lover in Act II, then the two men plot to murder the wife in Act II. All murders were unsuccessful, as the main comedy elements consisted of mundane conversation that touched every possible base of late 1970s popular thinking about marriage and relationships. I take it back, all that depressing stuff is fun to think about, but enough about that for here.
Company: superlative. Joe is a charmer. The fun couple could talk about ANYTHING, which is always a good thing. And their presence made my conversation with Joe all the better when we had a few moments to ourselves. In fact, the manager (who was the main actress) skipped us in her rounds to see how everyone had enjoyed the food because, as she told us later, our conversation was too intense.
i like your jacket! :-)
