August 26

He had quite the unreadable expression as I made to get back in the car and drive home. Tears? Giggles? I do know that he was very giddy on the drive up to Pittsburgh and also that I got quite the hug. That circular building in the background is his new home.

I think I might be a bit more perturbed than I might be willing to admit: Just as we were about to leave the house, I managed to step on my glasses. So my now-grown child drove his mother to the optician, where they fixed the glasses. The upshot was that I got an extra hour with said child. You might think I planned it that way.
it is hard to let go, but they do grow up

I think he feels the same way has you but also is happy to be stepping forward in his life!

I am sure he will love it - that expression looks to me if he is both happy and sad but the happy has it

We just have to let them go, if we know we have done our best and they are good kids then it should be easier but......... He sounds a good one to have taken his "old" "blind" Mum to opticians... so a good job well done (for him and you) It is a lovely portrait, stick it on your fridge and tell him what your day has brought.

Love the expression - happy smile with sad eyes (?) Take comfort in today's technology - you are only a quick email, text or Skype away!

I think it is a sad, but stoic face! I remember those faces from my own children. Glad you got to spend extra time with him!
