for get-pushed challenge from Vikki @summerfield to photograph black on black. It did help that I converted to black and white because it looked more like metal on brown before the conversion...

@summerfield It was black on black. But the lighting on the metal gave it an orange glow (I had not adjusted white balance from outside either) ... and, as you said, the background was nowhere near deep black before I autocratically laid down my post-processing scepter.... When I try again this evening, I'm going to try a bit more distance between subject and background, rather than have it sit right on the black velvet dress.

@francoise -try no direct light on the subject but on the background. sorry, i gave you a hard task. but if it must please you, i will be doing low key next week for a few days as penance for this transgression :-P
