Joe and I are visiting Charlottesville, VA for a couple days. Today we visited many shops, Jefferson's rotunda at UVA and an art museum. The curio shops and the craft shops were more fun than the art museum. But most fun of all was the squirrel making trip after trip to fetch nest linings from a nearby garbage can. We had the best time watching it and trying to figure out where it had found such a fabulous stash of lining for the upcoming babies. We waited in the alley behind the museum and the squirrel got very cagey. It did not want us knowing where it went. We turned and pretended to walk away, but were able to spy the squirrel darting under a wooden fence. Then it poked its head up at the top of the fence to see what we were up to. We went back in the front and waited on a nearby wall. Sure enough, Mrs. Squirrel reappeared with more treasure which she tucked into the nest. At least I assume it was a she.
I was so enthralled with your delightful story that I read it to Ken and went on to the next picture without fave or comment! I definitely love them both!
