though why they're not called "pinkbuds" or "purplebuds" I'm not sure. Nor do I know why they're also called Judas trees. (No, I've not yet googled that.)

Lovely spring capture. The redbuds are my favorite, and I too wonder why they're called red instead of purple or pink. To me they look purple.
