Girlfriend's mother is not happy with boyfriend or rather, with what the pair get up to together ... (Imagination can supply what teenagers might get up to.). Girlfriend not allowed to see boyfriend. Girlfriend insists on coming to graduation. Girlfriend's mother finally says ok, but I'll pick you up. Boyfriend's family must wait for an hour after (LONG, INTERMINABLE) event for girlfriend's mother to wade through traffic to pick up girlfriend. Girlfriend's mother doesn't even look at boyfriend's parents, just gets daughter into the car and lurches away.
Why is this karmic payback?
Well, when boyfriend's mother was young, boyfriend's mother and her own boyfriend inspired parental dissatisfaction and inter-family parental tension. It all came to a climax at graduation (what mother and her high school boyfriend did just before graduation is a story told elsewhere in this project). Mother, as high school girl, spent graduation in tears over the family rifts, but just as defiant and confident as this pair about the rightness of her own actions.
For get-pushed challenge to display photographically karma, what goes around comes around. I know the photo requires an explanation to get that idea across, but there it is.
@mbrigit Here is an answer to your challenge. The answer actually lies in the story rather than the picture, but while living through the tense moments, I was was thinking about your challenge. I thought to myself, "this is karma." So it's a documentary of the moment.
ah, the saga continues - modern day romeo and Juliet. mother of girlfriend must realize that 'tis better to have this boyfriend right here, rather than someone who has no education, no job, no pride. very nice couple. very nice shot. and sometimes, the picture needs an explanation.
you can feel their pain, but it is a losing battle they are on, very nice portrait they will treasure in their old age and laugh about with his inlaws eventually...
