Grey squirrels were everywhere in the Abbey Gardens in delightful Bury St Edmunds today. We stopped for a coffee and teacake on the way back to the car. It was about 3 deg C in Bury but fell to 1 deg C on the way home with heavy snow. The snow stopped by the time we arrived home. The Abbey Gardens looked "January" although aconites are coming through. In about 4 weeks time they will be splendid. All summer the gardens are a real joy.
