Today we were bathed in warm sunshine - a good chance to cut the lawns and refill the bird bath. In the last week the garden has burst into new life:new growth on just about everything. Couple that with evenings that will soon be light until after 10pm means one thing - spring. There are already plenty of swallows (back from Africa having flown 6000 miles) in Devon. I have yet to see any here in East Anglia, but there are some around. Swifts are normally here at the end of the month. Hearing these screech is a sure sign of summer.
