In Cambridge we have seen a big rise in rough sleepers in recent years. Most of these are genuine, if mentally ill in many cases. There are plenty of jobs locally. Rather than give money to rough sleepers (some of whom may use this for drugs) I prefer to give money regularly to a local homeless charity.
