My lifelong hobby has been amateur radio. Since my stroke in 2013, voice contacts have been harder, so I tend to use digital modes more often. I have spoken with people all over the world. The little radio in my hand is a, so called, DMR radio. It is quite common to hear stations in Australia chatting with stations across the world on it. I can too.
