WW2 Logbook

My dad, who died in 1987, hated the war.

He rarely talked about those dark times as a Pathfinder in Lancaster bombers at night over Germany. It must have really troubled him that his bombing meant innocent people just like him and his family were being killed. It must have been so frightening knowing that within a few hours you could be killed or badly injured. In his lifetime I had no idea how brave he was.

No wonder he liked the quiet life after the war.
Awful. Horrific. But so wonderful that you have this record of his service,
