It was certainly very cold at Sheffield Park on our visit this afternoon, cold enough for the display of Nellie's Arctic Adventure and this Polar Bear centrepiece of the artist Roy Kelf made out of repurposed milk containers.
P.S. Helen Agnes ‘Nellie’ Peel, the granddaughter of Prime Minister Sir Robert Peel, was just 23 years old when she left London in 1893 aboard the steam-yacht Blencathra bound for the Arctic inspired by ‘youth and a love for adventure’.
