This picture of the exterior of St Thomas the Martyr Winchelsea hardly does justice to the magnificent building and the beauty of the interior with its spirituality and serenity. Winchelsea itself is the smallest town in England with just 600 in the population, being built in the 14th century to replace Old Winchelsea which was lost to coastal erosion.
