This old abandoned bridge crosses what looks like a canal, in-fact it was a railway line that once served passengers at Horwich terminus railway station, Lancashire. The station opened in 1870 and closed in 1964 so many steam trains must have travelled under this bridge. My father worked for the Lancashire and Yorkshire locomotive works at Horwich, I remember travelling on the trains as a child, so it's likely I've travelled on a steam train under this bridge.
You have captured the brick work on this old lady very well Lee , I also remember standing on a bridge in Atherton with my dad when i was veru small as the steam trains went under the bridges sending a plum of smoke & ash which rolled over onto the top road where we were standing ....boy am i getting old LOL
lovely brickwork & reflection - had to read more carefully when you said you'd been on a train under the bridge - neatly caught out for skimming & hurrying!
