The little stone building on the horizon is Rivington Pike tower. Rivington Pike is on the West Pennine Moors. It lies within the Borough of Chorley, but most residents of Horwich would argue it is more associated with their town.

Wonderful shot with the tower in complete focus. Love that line of fencing running along the brown winter field! In my day they had big 'do's' for Young Farmers etc at Rivington Barn.
