Seed Heads, Peony by gardencat

Seed Heads, Peony

I love tree peonies. In the spring they produce the most beautiful big silky petaled flowers, many with wonderful fragrance. In the summer they grace the garden with lush, pleasantly shaped foliage and, even in the fall, their foliage provides beautiful soft fall colouring and , if you have had the restraint to have left some of the flowers uncut, striking, stiff, dark seed heads.
awesome - effect is not like I have seen before - background looks like a painting
Uber-like that

I love this Joanne. Looking at it on my phone makes it look like a van Gogh

Thank you. It is a kind of odd shot that I took with my fisheye lens and my nose practically right up against the peony. I think it is that lens that gives the foliage a kind of circular feel enclosing the seed heads.
