Not the world's greatest shot but better than the one I was able to get of this type of bird last year.
I was excited this morning when, on passing the pond, I noticed a whole group of Cormorants floating on the water. Last year I only ever saw one for a couple of days.
Then, I came home and found an article on line about how the numbers of Cormorants have been increasing exponentially and are become a danger to the populations of other wild life in the area. A few years ago Cormorants were endangered due to the use of DDT that was destroying their eggs. Since the use of DDT was banned, I guess they are making a comeback but in much greater numbers than anyone expected.
