White Damselfly I

Still with the insects here. I think this is a damselfly rather than a dragonfly. I'm basing that on the spacing of the eyes but once again I'm willing to hear more from someone more expert in the field.
As I was watching it, it pulled it's tail into touch the stem it was resting on, held it there briefly then straightened out again...no idea why.

Great shot Joanne, that's what they do when they are laying eggs. Maybe just practising.

@markp I did wonder about that, but I didn't see anything left behind on the stem after it did the maneuver,so I figured I got it wrong but, if they do practice maybe that is what was going on.
