Aquilegia

From the shade garden or, more accurately, the shady weed patch.
This is a beautiful capture with amazing detail. I just love aquilegia.

They are beautiful. Would love to see a macro of one of these. I don't recall seeing white ones. We have a pinkish purple and a deep purple around our property.

This one has a very faint pink tinge in the outer petals but overall does look mostly white. I started a few years ago with I think 3 of these, one a medium to deep pink, one a deep purple and one a sort of violet colour. Now after letting them kind of run rampant and self hybridize down the shady side of the house I have many shades between creamy pink and dark violet.
I think to do a good macro you'd probably need to use focus stacking, they're such a deep three dimensional flower.
