The cats in Rhodes (of which I saw many) seem to be very friendly and comfortable around people which has caused me to jump to the conclusion that people in Rhodes must generally be nice to animals. I was there in November and still found many cats around looking relatively healthy, so who knows the truth, it is a complicated world.
