Wasp!

We have a lot of hover flies around here with colouring that mimics the wasps or bees, but I'm pretty sure this is actually a wasp.

Great macro.
It is a Wasp, Joanne, even the best of the Hover-Fly Wasp impersonators have hover-fly type antenna.
This has Wasp type antenna. It has just two bendy rod like structures.
A hover-fly tends to have one connection with the head with two fan like, even mini satellite dish like structures. Quickest and easiest way to distinguish them if you get a close enough view or photo.
